Identifying information may be published in Masters Swimming publications such as Top Ten, Records, Results Portal, Newsletters and Website etc.

MEMBER PROTECTION POLICY

Masters Swimming Australia (MSA) has adopted a Member Protection Policy which outlines our commitment towards maintaining ethical and informed decision-making and encouraging responsible behaviours within our sport. It outlines our commitment to a person’s right to be treated with respect and dignity and to be safe and protected from abuse. This policy details the responsibilities and the standards of behaviour that are expected of everyone involved in our sport and has been endorsed by the National Board of Management. Copies of the policy and its attachments can be obtained from the MSA website at www.mastersswimming.org.au

As a member of MSA you agree to be bound by this policy.

SAFETY IN ACTIVITY

MSA is concerned for your health and well-being. It is strongly recommended that you have a medical examination and discuss with your doctor your intention of undertaking an activity program.

As a condition of acceptance of my membership application, I declare that I am aware of the risks associated in undertaking an activity program. I undertake to advise the Club Coach and Club Safety Officer (or other assigned officer) of any disability, lack of fitness, illness, or other medical condition, prior to participation in Masters Swimming activities.

PREGNANCY AND SWIMMING

Continued participation in swimming during pregnancy may pose health risks to women and their unborn children. As soon as you learn you are pregnant, you should seek advice from an appropriately qualified medical practitioner as to:

1.the risks involved in swimming while pregnant;
2.whether it is safe to continue participating in swimming while pregnant, and if so, for how long you should continue to participate.
3.You should also inform your club Safety Officer or other designated officer of your pregnancy.

MEDICAL DISABILITY

A completed Medical Disability form (available from your club) must be given to your club for a medical disability to be considered for breaststroke and/or butterfly competition.

Some of the information contained in this form will be disclosed to the Branch and National office for membership registration purposes. Some of the information, including the health information, may be disclosed to other Masters Swimming Clubs, other Masters Swimming Branches or the National office for official swim meet purposes.

MSA REFUND STATEMENT

Under Australian Consumer Law, Masters Swimming Australia Membership has no obligation to refund membership fees regardless of the timeframe after, or circumstances in which a member determines that they no longer wish to remain a member.

Masters Swimming Australia has an obligation to refund membership payments or part thereof where a technical error has been proven to have occurred on the national online registration system, resulting in a negative financial effect on the user (e.g. if a transaction is debited twice due to a systems error), or where a major failure to comply with a consumer guarantee occurs.

Masters Swimming Australia has a Refund Policy Procedure in the event of the death of a financial member. A representative from the member’s club, can contact the member Branch Administrator or Masters Swimming Australia admin@mastersswimming.org.au to discuss the claim reimbursement. Member Branches and/or clubs may choose to refund their own component of membership fees by cash, cheque or EFT to their members.

If a club chooses to reimburse a member for the entire membership fee they have paid (including Masters Swimming Australia’s, Masters Swimming Branch and their area’s fee portions), the club cannot claim reimbursement from the above-mentioned organisations for those fee portions unless approved to do so.
Transition 2 Masters Terms & Conditions(Required)
TRANSITION 2 MASTERS PARTICIPANTS ONLY

As part of the T2M membership we have teamed up with researchers from the University of Southern Queensland and the University of New South Wales to evaluate how you progress through the program.
In learning more about your journey, our T2M participants will be asked to fill in a survey (before, at the end and a month after the program) which should only take you about 10 minutes to complete.

I consent for my de-identified (i.e., anonymous) data to be used for the purposes of program evaluation. I will not be identified in any way and data will be reported in aggregate format (i.e., grouped up).

This membership product does NOT allow you to enter swimming meets, enter pool facilities free of charge or provide free swimming lessons.
