2025 Volunteer of the Year

The Volunteer of the Year Award celebrates the remarkable dedication and generosity of our members who give so much of their time, expertise, and energy to Masters Swimming in Australia. This award recognises and rewards an individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment and leadership as a volunteer at the National level, making a meaningful and lasting contribution to the organisation. It acknowledges those whose efforts go above and beyond, whose passion strengthens our community, and whose service helps ensure the continued success, growth, and positive culture of Masters Swimming across the country.

Congratulations to Jan Saunders, Superfins, WA on being named MSA’s 2025 National Volunteer of the Year Award.

Jan has been a valued member of the National Diversity and Inclusion Committee since 2024 and was elected as Chair in the same year. In this role, Jan has provided strong and thoughtful leadership, helping to guide the committee’s strategic direction and ensuring that diversity, equity, and inclusion remain central to the work of Masters Swimming Australia. Through this work, Jan has actively assisted MSA in supporting swimmers with disabilities and other marginalised groups to enter and remain engaged in Masters swimming as a lifelong sport. Jan is a passionate advocate for the values and benefits of Masters Swimming and consistently promotes participation to both members and non-members alike. This advocacy extends to encouraging involvement in events at both state and national levels, helping to foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment across the Masters Swimming community.
