Chris Mason (MSA New Finance Director)

Masters Swimming Australia (MSA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Mason in the casual vacancy of the Finance Director (FD).

Chris is a member of Rackley Masters Swim Team in Queensland and brings extensive financial and commercial expertise to the Board. A Chartered Accountant, he has more than 10 years of experience leading global financial operations in complex, multinational organisations, with a proven track record in strategic financial planning, regulatory compliance, risk management and business partnering.

Throughout his career, Chris has worked closely with boards and executive leadership teams to align financial strategy with organisational objectives, drive operational excellence, and support sustainable growth. His experience spans international tax and transfer pricing, financial systems optimisation, mergers and acquisitions, internal controls, and governance frameworks, providing him with a broad understanding of the financial and strategic challenges facing modern organisations.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting Science from the University of Pretoria (South Africa) and is a Chartered Accountant through Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ). He has also completed the Senior Management Development Program at the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

As Finance Director, Chris will play a key role in overseeing the financial stewardship of MSA, supporting sound governance and helping to ensure the organisation remains well positioned to deliver on its strategic priorities and serve the needs of members.
